Description
These Butternut trees were grown from locally collected Manitoba seed. Also called White Walnut, Juglans cinerea is a slow growing tree native to eastern North America with an open spreading crown.
The sweet oily nuts have deeply ridged shells inside sticky green husks that ripen and fall from September into October. The tree has compound leaves with serrated leaflets and light grey bark.
