Description
Kerr, also called Kerr Applecrab or Morden 352, was selected by W. L. Kerr at the Morden Research Station from a cross of Dolgo crabapple and Haralson. The cultivar was released in 1952.
The small oblong apples reach about 1.75 inches and have dark red to purple skin, yellow flesh, and a crisp juicy sweet tart flavour. Fruit ripens in the middle of September, hangs late, and can store for several months. It is used fresh and for canning. Kerr has good resistance to fire blight and apple scab.
