Description
Ginger Gold was discovered as a chance seedling in a Virginia Winesap orchard in 1980. Its parentage is unknown. The medium to large apples begin pale green and mature to soft yellow, with a smooth slightly waxy skin.
The fruit resembles Golden Delicious but ripens much earlier and has a spicier flavour. At the nursery it is expected from late August into early September.
