Description
Tabasco is a Capsicum frutescens pepper with small upright fruit, juicy flesh, and bright heat. The fruit ripens from green through yellow and orange to red and is used for fermented hot sauce, pepper vinegar, drying, and fresh cooking.
The pepper type is associated with Mexico and has a history separate from any commercial sauce brand.
