Description
Sweet Sixteen Apple was introduced by the University of Minnesota in 1977 from a cross of MN447 and Northern Spy. The medium red striped apples have crisp, fine textured flesh and an unusually complex sweet flavour with notes of cherry candy, anise, vanilla, and spice.
Fruit ripens from mid to late September and is well suited to fresh eating. Trees can bear heavy crops and have some resistance to fire blight.
