Description
Cassia javanica, the pink shower tree, is a deciduous flowering tree native to Southeast Asia and grown throughout the tropics for its spectacular spring display. As the new leaves emerge, the branches erupt in dense clusters of rose-pink blossoms that soften to pale pink with age, giving a single tree the look of a drifting cloud of color. Fast-growing and wide-spreading where winters are frost-free, it makes a showy specimen or shade tree in warm climates; in cooler regions it is grown as a tender plant under protection.
