Description

Collet is a Manitoba apple introduced by Albert Collet in 1934. The cultivar is often compared with McIntosh and is noted for early production and good disease resistance.

The medium fruit measures about 6 to 8 cm across. It has green skin with red streaking and a strong red blush, and firm, crisp, very juicy flesh with a sweet tart flavour. The flavour becomes sweeter after a light frost. Fruit ripens from the middle to late part of September, stores well, and is used fresh or for baking.
