Description
Bob Gordon Elderberry is a vigorous North American cultivar selected for large crops, uniform berries, and fruit clusters that hang downward when ripe and are easier to harvest. The deep purple black berries have relatively high sugar and ripen from late summer into early fall. They are used for juice, syrup, wine, jam, and jelly.
Bob Gordon is self fertile, but another American elderberry cultivar such as Wyldewood can improve fruit set. The shrubs produce creamy white flowers in early summer and grow in sun or partial shade.
