This is a balanced granular fertilizer, containing equal amounts of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. Potassium is also called potash. If applying 1 pound of nitrogen per 1000 square feet, apply 5.88 pounds of 17-17-17 per 1000 square feet of area you are fertilizing. This value is found by dividing 1/.17 = 5.88. Apply this evenly with a spreader.
