This is a balanced granular fertilizer, containing equal amounts of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. Potassium is also called potash. If you are applying one pound of nitrogen per 1000 square feet, apply 10 lbs of 10-10-10 fertilizer per 1000 square feet of area you are fertilizing. This value is found by dividing 1/.10 = 10.
