Description
Porter’s Perfection is an English cider apple discovered by Charles Porter at East Lambrook in Somerset during the 19th century. It became widely planted in Somerset cider orchards in the early 20th century as a medium bittersharp apple.
The small fruit has yellow green skin with red stripes and produces sharp juice with modest astringency. Fruit sometimes forms fused pairs or clusters, a distinctive trait that gave the cultivar the nickname Clusters. Porter’s Perfection ripens very late, often into November in its traditional growing region.
