Description
Wild American Black Currant (Ribes americanum) is a native berry shrub grown from seed collected from wild stands in Manitoba. The robust shrubs produce clusters of dark berries with a complex flavour similar to Crandall currant.
The fruit can ripen unevenly through late summer, with green, yellow, and black berries sometimes present on the same cluster. This native currant also provides food and habitat for wildlife.
