Description
Waltham 29 broccoli is a dependable heirloom developed for cool-season gardens, producing blue-green main heads followed by smaller side shoots after the first cut. Released from Massachusetts breeding work in the mid-1900s, it became a standard home-garden broccoli for its reliability and useful harvest window.
The plants are sturdy, productive, and especially well suited to fall crops. Cut the central head while buds are still tight, then keep watching for side shoots. Waltham 29 gives broccoli season a second helping.
