Description
Valiant Grape Seedlings were grown from open pollinated Valiant fruit. Seedlings will vary, but many should retain some of the parent’s early ripening, fruit quality, and exceptional cold hardiness. Valiant has medium sized, seeded dark blue grapes used for juice and wine.
Developed at South Dakota State University, Valiant combines native Vitis riparia with Vitis labrusca. The parent cultivar has moderate resistance to powdery and downy mildew, but seedlings may differ.
