Description
Silver Star Sea Buckthorn is a male cultivar used to pollinate female sea buckthorn plants. It does not produce berries, but its flowers supply pollen for nearby female cultivars. One male can pollinate about 6 to 8 female plants when they are within effective wind pollination range.
Silver Star has silvery green foliage and an upright habit. Like other sea buckthorn, it tolerates poor, sandy, or rocky soil and becomes drought tolerant once established.
