(aka False Saffron) A very old heirloom plant that has been used for its medicinal properties for centuries. Safflower was also used as a saffron substitute and for its rich oil obtained from its seed. It has also been used historically as a dye plant. Safflower is a very easy to grow annual plant that prefers drier soils. The yellow thistle like flowers are also great as a cut flowers as well. Sun. Ht: 2-3’ Annual.
