Description

Pink Porterweed is a perennial shrub that can grow 4ft tall and 6ft wide. It is a beautiful plant with purple flowers that evoke a cottage garden feel and is a favorite to hummingbirds. Each flower blooms for just one day on a spike, but the plant blooms throughout the year, attracting many pollinators. The flowers are not only food for bees and butterflies, but can also be consumed by humans! They taste like mushrooms and can be used to add a lovely pop of color to your salads. The leaves are fuzzy when compared to the native and upright Porterweeds, making it easy to identify if it is not blooming.
