Description
Latin name – Clerodendrum paniculatum
The Pagoda Flower is a summer blooming tropical shrub that thrives in heat. Native to India, Sri Lanka, and Malaysia, it grows quickly and can each reach 5-10 feet tall and 2-3 feet wide. Its flowers are stunning – they are huge showy blooms that consist of a large pyramid shaped grouping of tubular flower clusters that can vary in color from white, off white, red, orange, to yellow. It thrives in areas where it can get morning sun or partial shade with moist soil. Butterflies and hummingbirds love Pagoda Flower – its not uncommon to see several Swallowtail butterflies hanging out on it at one time.
