Our preferred choice of orchid food here on the farm, Nutricote is a timed release fertilizer that is perfect for mature orchids. Lasting around 9 months, this 13-11-11 mix will release a small amount of fertilizer as you water your orchid. The rate of release is based on a consistent temperature of 77° F, so those of you growing in warmer or cooler temperatures will need to adjust accordingly. Try to avoid applying fertilizer near the roots, too close and you may burn them.
