Nyjer® is a definite favorite of goldfinches. This tiny black seed, with a thin shell has high oil content, making it an excellent energy source for active birds. Nyjer® (or often called thistle by many backyard birders) is imported from overseas and is heat sterilized upon importing to prevent it from germinating.
