Lemongrass is an herbaceous perennial clumping grass that is native to India. It makes a delicious tea and is used often in Thai soups and curries. It grows 6 feet tall and 4 feet wide and adds a lovely lemony scent to the surrounding area in the food forest. Harvest the leaves by cutting at ground level, removing the lower bulb and separating the outer leaves, then cut or bruise the inner stalk and use to flavor your cooking. Plant in full sun and in well draining soil.
