Description
Laxton’s Progress 9 is an old English shelling pea with short vines, full pods, and sweet green peas packed neatly inside. Bred from the Laxton pea tradition of the early 1900s, this dwarf type brings classic pea flavor without demanding a tall trellis.
Pods usually hold 7–9 peas and are best picked when plump but still bright and tender. Shell them into a bowl for spring suppers, stir them into rice or pasta, or freeze a little sweetness for later. Few harvests feel more like cool-season gardening.
