- National Pipe Straight Hose (NPSH) will thread and seal to NPSH or National Pipe Thread (NPT)
- National Hose Thread (NH or NST) is the American standard fire hose coupling thread and will only thread and seal onto NH or NST threads
- Garden Hose Thread (GHT) will only thread and seal onto GHT
