Description
Canadian Gooseberry (Ribes oxyacanthoides), also called Northern Gooseberry, is a North American native with fruit just over half an inch wide that ripens from green to reddish. Its branches carry dense small spines.
The species grows from Alaska through much of Canada and into the western and north central United States. It occurs in varied habitats and supports pollinators and wildlife.
