Latin name – Alternathera sissoo
Also known as, Sissoo Spinach, Brazilian Spinach is an excellent tender leafed, mild flavored tropical perennial spinach. Use in salads, smoothies, and cooked in pasta, soups, and stir fries – this tropical spinach is an excellent substitute for traditional grocery store spinach. This is a favorite here at our nursery.
Plant in partial sun to full shade and give it space to spread. Its sprawling nature makes it an excellent groundcover. It will quickly spread and form a dense mat of edible spinach, which will not allow weeds to pop up. Perfect to plant under a tree!
