Black Prince hails from Siberia—mahogany fruits with green shoulders and a rich, wine-like sweetness on compact vines that set in cool weather. Fruits average 4–6 oz, useful for salads and roasting.
Indeterminate but manageable, it thrives where summers are short. Harvest just before fully soft to avoid cracking. Use the fruit fresh, roasted, sauced, canned, or eaten warm from the vine, depending on the variety.
