Aloe Vera comes in hundreds of varieties, but this ubiquitous, juicy-leafed variety is the medicinal one you want for your garden.
Compared with other varieties, Aloe Barbadensis yields lots of juice per leaf and grows easily in South Florida conditions. Full or part sun is acceptable, plenty of water is acceptable, but this plant persists in drought too.
Aloe has long been revered for its multitude of hopeful uses. Once thought to prevent graying hair and heal wounds, Aloe has proven to be effective in topical treatment of minor skin conditions like burns, rash, and psoriasis.
