Description
Alberta Red produces large glossy red apples with crisp, juicy flesh and a slight pink tinge that can colour the juice. The fruit has excellent flavour and is well suited to fresh eating.
This cultivar came from the University of Alberta breeding program in 1960 and was later rescued from obscurity by Dr. Ieuan Evans. The fruit ripens in September.
