Description
Pennsylvania Dutch Crookneck is a regional heirloom winter squash with long curved necks, bulbous seed ends, and tan skin over sweet orange flesh. Closely related to butternut types, it offers a generous neck of seedless flesh that is especially useful in the kitchen.
Give the vines room and cure the fruits well for storage. This old Pennsylvania favorite is excellent roasted, baked, pureed, and cooked into pies or soups—a true local harvest with deep garden roots.
